Kabul City

Kabul is the capital city of Afghanistan and most populated, a city where I have been born in , citizens are the people mostly from other provinces from years to now making it the most combined City of different ethnic groups. In most provinces majority of people are living with a traditional life of tribalism , and some provinces due to its demographic situation and its value of growing business relations are the home of different tribes and ethnic groups , and among all the growing cities Kabul is the main city and has most of the consumers as well. and of course the majority of citizens are the people joining from provinces with different tribes and ethnic groups.
Tribalism
Tribalism has a big role in our society. Most people live with the people of the same caste and religion. Rules, regulations and cultures are highly affected by tribalism. People inform their elders and caste members to take part in certain decisions.
Shar-e- Kabul
_Shar-e- Kabul is the center of Kabul , the most crowded market place possibly in all of Afghanistan. There are many markets , companies , shopping malls , restaurants and education centers in Shar. Surprisingly, you may find many governmental offices and ministries here , and of course a place where any thing good and bad happens, from robbery to murder, from explosions to fight with terrorists and different crimes. Pocket theft is a normal crime you may see while visiting! where everything happens .
Shar-e- Naw
Please there are much more developed modern locations in Kabul which should be introduced in future.
Since Shar-e Naw is a famous spot from early years, I hereby add it here.
“Share Naw ” literally means “new city” is a newly developed and most famous city for foreigners. It was developed in the first decade after the US invasion. In the recent decade lots of developments have been made and you could find much more beautiful modern areas with developed looks, the restaurants and other entertaining gardens, parks and places , but since the first impression is the last impression; Shar-e Naw is still a destination for tourists and visitors simply because they hear stories mostly about Shar-e- Naw! I will share about new destinations that are not famous but are worthy to visit in future.
Covid-19
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic issues , no tourists or foreigners are seen in streets of Kabul city .let me say one thing more Afghanistan has never been watched completely and has untold stories , Afghanistan and Kabul City is not only what tourists tries to show because you will never have stories from insecure areas or places that were not possible for tourists to visit due to their fear. People outside Afghanistan might have seen Main City of Kabul but not some interesting neighborhoods or you may know Share Naw but not Pole Sorkh ( a newly developed spot comparably modern where you can find new positive cultural trends ), you may know the stories of women in Bamiyan or Badakhshan but not about women in provinces like Helmand, Kapisa or Logar because the gender inequality differs in these places.
People’s appearances

Let’s stick to our topic: Kabul , a crowded city of different lifestyles and fashion. You can see a simple girl wearing jean with a long coat. You can see woman wearing hijab, men wearing suits, men wearing traditional cloth, stylish black hijab and more youths with western dressing styles. Every where you are you see youths, the population of young people is very very high and the aged are comparably less.
Kabuli
Kabuli, people originating from Kabul are called Kabuli. Kabul is a big city with towns and districts but Kabuli commonly is said to those from the Center of Kabul or the area called Shar-e- Kabul. Most Kabulis from the center of Kabul escaped the country during the civil war. Stories are about Kabulis that they were those who never joined the civil war however lost their houses during the civil war and finally most of them escaped to neighboring and European countries. It’s said that Kabulis were kind, culture oriented, educated and open minded.
Commonly people say real Kabulis are not in the country, they are all gone! There are a few Kabulis left in Kabul.
There are controversies by few Kabulis that say while you meet one of them in a taxi they say that Kabul was a beautiful secure city with well educated and kind people but people from other provinces came and ruined it all.
Once I was in a taxi where two Kabulis met each other; a woman who looked to be in her twenties and an old man after some discussions about the city realized they were both from Shar-e- Kabul. The woman was glad to meet the old Kabuli man. She told him, pointing to others in Taxi;
“Dear uncle, Our Kabul was nice, how secure it was! how friendship and love was there, how beautiful the youths were, how mannered were the people. Other illiterate people came from the provinces, ruined it, made our city dirty, dull and full of violence”
It is not right. We know that cities develop by diversity and immigrations. Let me tell you that they are not bad people. They really have suffered and they tell the truth and Kabul was of course a secure city before with open minded youths and stylish people. She was of course pointing out the civil war when Kabul collapsed and buildings and hotels fell down in pieces.
Let’s be honest! Globalization and international business relationships results cities to grow as a home for diverse people. Today in all over the world we see diversity within the cities and business firms and educational institutes. We can’t differentiate people by their homeland in big cities.
Kabul is full of stories. It has a big space in my blog so I will keep telling more about it in future posts.
